Bongo is a character representing a premium sms service called Ask Bongo. The company wanted to redesign it as it was outdated and lacked personality. In order to make the character more engaging and relatable I redesigned it with a story in mind. I thought of his origins, likes, dislikes and personality traits.
Software used: Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, Adobe After Effects.
Character Animation
The character was meant to be used in social media marketing, mainly in influencer campaigns. In order to make to content more organic, I have created animated gifs that were uploaded on Ask Bongo giphy channel. This allowed the influencers to use the characters without any help of the designers, making the content appear more organic to the viewers. To create the animations I made an advanced head rig in Adobe After Effects using Duik plug in.
